No, because most people give up on their New Year’s goals by March.

Yes March

How to review your Q1, Q2, Q3 & Q4 goals

Not because they don’t want success but because the mindset to keep going when life gets messy hasn’t been built yet.

Back in January, I shared why you should not do a vision board for 2025.

I talked about setting clear intentions for the year and a few things you should probably do before touching that glue stick and glitter.

If you missed it, catch up here

You know the feeling of setting big goals in January, full of excitement then, silence. Days slipped by into week and months. The vision board gathered dust. Before I knew it, it was Q4 and all I had was a list of “should-haves” and “could-have-beens.”

What reviewing my goals taught me and how you can set yourself up for a better Q2

This time, as Q1 ended, I decided to review what I wrote down on my Year compass. To see if I’m still on track and not fallen by the way side. And I smiled.

I’ve ticked off a few big goals already. More importantly, I’ve mentally shifted how I set goals and it’s made all the difference.

Here’s what happened, I started setting goals per quarter. This has been a good one for me. (PS: shoutout to ChatGPT for being my accountability buddy😄) Before we continue, if you’re ready to dive into reviewing your goals for Q2, I’ve created a special downloadable guide to help you. It walks you through the process, step-by-step. Grab it below and let’s get started.

Now pause for a second. I want you to forget about the whole year.

Think of your 2025 goals like you’re preparing your favorite meal.

First, you make a list.

Then you head to the market.

After the runs, if you’re anything like me then you’re probably drinking cold Caprisun or chilled Arizona. You deserve it

Then You nap (obviously), and then meal prep begins.

I’ll finish prepping and then begin to mix my ingredients in order

See how much goes into cooking just one meal?

That’s exactly how your goals work.

Instead of staring at a 12-month mountain, break your goals down into 4 quarters and then into specific action steps.

Let me show you what I mean.

One of my big goals for 2025 is to get 10 certifications in mental health and personal branding by December.

Quarterly goal-setting

Here is how I’ve mapped my year

  • Research the courses I actually want
  • Create a calendar with deadlines, in order of priority
  • Complete one course per month = 10 by December
  • By Q4, I should be winding down

See how easy and achievable this goal is just because I broke it down into steps.

If you break your goals into manageable 3-month chunks, you’ll see how less pressured you’ll feel. You don’t have to see the entire year. You just need to focus on what’s in front of you right now.

When I started setting goals this way, everything changed.

I felt clearer, less anxious, and more in control.

And I watched new doors open, opportunities I never even imagined, I started crossing things off that felt impossible before.

If you don’t take action now, chances are you’ll be back here in July, staring at the same list, asking, “Where did the time go?”

It’s amazing how when you narrow your focus, your vision sharpens. And I’ve seen for myself how this mindset can shift the way you approach even your biggest challenges.

I’m still visualizing my future but the question isn’t “What do I want?” anymore.

It’s “Who do I need to become to make this possible?”

That’s where the real power is: in the mindset. It’s not just about wishing for things to happen, it’s more about evolving into the person who can turn those wishes into reality.

Now that we’re stepping into Q2, maybe you’re feeling a little behind. Maybe you’re beating yourself up for the goals you missed. It’s easy to lose momentum, especially with everything going on in the world.

Pause.

Progress isn’t linear.

It’s okay to take a breath, reframe, and start again.

Believing in what’s possible isn’t just some motivational quote.
It’s a mindset.
A strategy.
A way to lead yourself forward.

I won’t lie, this past month, I struggled with a lot of things. There were days I felt stuck, drained, and honestly over it.
But I’ve learned that giving myself permission to pause always works wonders. That mental space? It gave me new energy and fresh ideas.

So, to set the tone for Q2, I’m starting a simple challenge:

For the next 7 days, I’ll spend 10 minutes daily writing down 3 small things I can do to move closer to my Q2 goals.

Join me if you like.

Start small.
Start today.
Because every little step?
It counts.

You’re on the right track even if it doesn’t feel like it yet.
